Project “Danube – a river with a lot of common history” ROBG-476 has been selected within the third call for project proposals of the Program “Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria” 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. It appears to be a direct continuation and upgrade of what was achieved under the project “Danube – a river with a lot of history” ROBG-6.
The project partnership includes:
– Leading beneficiary: Open Palm Foundation, Pleven, Bulgaria and
– Beneficiary 2: Teleorman District Museum, Alexandria, Romania.

PRIORITY AXIS OUTPUT INDICATORS: 2 GREEN REGION
1. Number of integrated tourism products/services created;
2. Number of general strategies, policies or plans to manage the valorisation
(including raising awareness) of cultural and natural heritage through its restoration and promotion for sustainable economic use.

PRIORITY AXIS OUTCOME INDICATORS: 2 GREEN REGION
1. Number of tourists staying overnight in the Cross-Border region;
2. Natura 2000 sites in the cross-border area with coordinated management tools.
Specific objective 2.1: Improving the sustainable use of resources and natural and cultural heritage.

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:
• Improving the sustainable development, protection, preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage and improvement of the socio-economic situation in the Eligible Zone, through the implementation of innovative and long-term measures and activities.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
• Carrying out a study of objects, part of the cultural and historical heritage with a common history in the region;
• Development of a joint author’s strategy for the protection, development, preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage;
• Creation of unique and one-of-a-kind reduced volume-spatial models, part of the cultural and historical heritage with a common history between the countries located on both sides along the Danube River;
• Digitization of the studied sites, part of the cultural and historical heritage in the region;
• Creation of Android® and iOS® applications with information about the studied objects;
• Creation of two integrated tourist products;
• Increasing awareness and promotion of the cross-border region regarding the cultural and historical sites located in southern Romania and northern Bulgaria with a common history between the countries. Increasing the tourist flow and the number of overnight stays in the region through the implementation of innovative and long-term measures and activities;
• Other concomitants.

MAIN PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
• Подготовка на проектното предложение;
• Създаване на съвместен комитет за управление на проекта;
• Администриране и управление на проекта;
• Информация и публичност:
– Изработване и разпространение на информационни и промоционални материали;
– Пресконференции и медийна кампания, включваща радио и телевизионни излъчвания;
– Създаване на интернет страница;
– Разработване на мобилни приложения за Android и IOS съдържащи подробна информация за трансграничната зона и културно-историческите обекти, намиращи се на нейна територия. За всеки един от проучените обекти ще има подробна пътна карта и GPS координати за неговото разположение;
– Изработка и разпространение на двуезичен документален филм.
• Определяне и проучване на 18 бр. обекта с обща история, част от културното и историческо наследство на България и Румъния, пропорционално разделени по 9 на страна и изработване на съвместна авторска стратегия за защита, развитие, съхранение и популяризиране на културното наследство. Дейността ще бъде извършена от съвместен екип от историци от България и Румъния под ръководството на директора на Регионален исторически музей Плевен;
• Digitization of the studied 18 nos. objects and creating their 360° images. По този начин ще се запази, съхрани и популяризира културното наследство в региона за векове напред по един нов начин. Ще се създаде нов вид дигитален туризъм и съвременен научен продукт с достъп и разпространение в дигитална среда от всяка точка и по всяко време;
• Изработване на 18 бр. умалени обемно- пространствени модели на обекти с обща история между страните и част от тяхното културно и историческо наследство;
• Провеждане на 8 бр. изложби, пропорционално разделени по 4 на територията на Северна България и 4 на територията на Южна Румъния с продължителност не по-малка от 7 дни всяка. Планираният брой посетители за осемте изложби е не по-малко от 11 000 души.
