Exhibition “Journeythrough Living Traditions“
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, on June 5 at 5:30 p.m. the “Journey through Living Traditions” exhibition will be officially opened. The event is realized with the support of the Municipality of Pleven and the “Open Hand” Foundation.
The exhibition will present hundreds of photographs and texts documenting over time the traditions of the 17 member states of the Regional Center for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe under the auspices of UNESCO. In 18 photo panels, the living heritages of the member states of the Sofia Regional Center – UNESCO are collected, including Azerbaijan, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgia, the Republic of Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Republic of Slovenia, Republic of Serbia, Republic of Turkey, Ukraine, Republic of Croatia and Montenegro.
The event will take place in the Panorama “Pleven Epic 1877”, part of Regional Military History Museum – Pleven, in which the “Open Hand” Foundation will take part with a scaled-down realistic model of the Panorama, made according to the project ” Danube-River with a lot of common history “. project code ROBG-476 under the INTEREG VA Romania-Bulgaria Program, co-financed by the ERDF and in connection with the project sustainability policy and on the basis of the prepared Joint Strategy for the protection, preservation, sustainable use and management of cultural heritage with a common history.
The exhibition can be viewed from June 5 to July 5, 2023 in the Panorama “Pleven Epic 1877”.
